Through shelter, we empower.
Habitat for Humanity builds homes, communities and hope. Together, with the support of our corporate partners, we can achieve that goal.
A corporate partnership with Habitat for Humanity can give your organization a way to enunciate your social responsibility strategy clearly and concisely – helping build a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Create a meaningful relationship with the impact, history and brand value of Habitat for Humanity and make yourself stand out with your consumers, vendors, employees, peers or business partners.

Partnerships can be achieved in the following ways:
Home sponsorship
Individuals, businesses, civic organizations and faith congregations can make a significant commitment to affordable housing in the community by sponsoring a home. A Home Sponsorship provides funding for the construction materials needed to build a new home. Home Sponsorship offers many benefits like recognition of your commitment to community and the opportunity for hands-on volunteer work to build the home. Home sponsorship also offers the opportunity for positive team-building experiences for businesses and civic organizations. Faith congregations benefit from the opportunity to put their faith into action.

Lending partner
Lending partnerships provide a unique opportunity for banks to collaborate with Habitat for Humanity of East and Central Pasco County, helping local families with limited incomes secure decent, affordable housing while fulfilling their Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) requirements. By partnering with us through the purchase of qualified Habitat for Humanity mortgages or helping secure financing for future homebuyers, banks can help us leverage assets to build more affordable homes for more families in our community.

Community Contribution Tax Credit Program (CCTCP)
Limited Availability Provides a financial incentive via an income tax credit or sales tax refund to encourage qualified Florida businesses to make donations toward community development and housing projects for low-income persons. A business can “donate” a specific Habitat home through a 50/50 cash and in-kind sponsorship – a cash donation and the contribution of at least 200 volunteer hours toward the construction of a home. The business will receive 50% of the value of the donation (based on home appraisal) back, which equates to the full amount of the cash portion paid.

Gifts in kind donations
Gifts and in-kind donations of all sorts have helped us further our work, and brought opportunity and resources to families in need of a decent place to call home. Contributions large and small continue to make a difference, and we believe there is something every company can give to allow us to help even more families build better futures.

Corporate volunteering and team building
Many businesses are now seeing the short- and long-term benefits of bringing employees outside the walls of the office, and into the volunteer space. Whether this is your first company volunteer event, or you’re seasoned pros, Habitat provides a fun, easy and engaging experience. We’re in the business of building safe, affordable housing, and would love to work with you.
Research has shown that employees prefer to work for companies invested in charitable causes, and volunteering is a terrific way to facilitate that need at a relatively low cost to you. It is especially important to the Millennial generation, born approximately 1980-2000, which is the second largest outside of the Baby Boomers and is now entering the workforce in droves.
Benefits to corporate volunteering with Habitat for Humanity:
- Learn about your employees on a more personal level.
- Break down the hierarchy walls of traditional corporate structure.
- Assist in projects that provide a better future for other individuals.
- Provide a deeper connection to the area around you.
- Create a more stable environment for those in need.
- Share an experience that you can take back to the office.
For additional information on the business and costs of volunteering, take a look at this in-depth article from America’s Charities.
Maybe you’ve already spent money on ropes courses, picnics or retreats, and those all certainly have their place. We believe it’s also valuable to invest time with your employees in meaningful work that will not only have an impact on them, but on the people they help for years to come.
Frequently asked questions
Do our employees need prior construction experience?
No, just come as you are. We have jobs and tasks for all skill levels and abilities including construction, beautification, running errands and touch-ups. In addition to build projects, you may choose to serve at a Habitat ReStore in your area, which are our resale shops.
Will we get to meet the future Habitat homeowner from our build project?
Habitat’s future homeowners have requirements to fulfill, which we call sweat equity. This includes construction on their home and the homes of others participating in Habitat’s homeownership program. It is possible you will get to work with the homeowners. Other volunteer opportunities also include working in the Habitat ReStore where you will have the opportunity to work alongside Habitat staff and other volunteers.
