Preparing families for homeownership.
At Habitat, we believe that financial education is critical to successful long-term homeownership and to building intergenerational wealth and improving health and education outcomes for families. That’s why Habitat prioritizes helping families learn how to budget and save, preparing them to manage an affordable mortgage as homeowners. We prepare future homeowners through workshops on budgeting, credit, home maintenance, and financial planning.
Future homeowners complete our required financial education program. Even for those who feel they have a good understanding of personal finance, we believe there is always more to learn.

Since our founding in 1976 as a Christian organization, together we have helped more than 62 million people in countries around the world build their futures on their own terms through access to decent housing. We’ve done that by working alongside people of all walks of life to:

- Innovate new ways of building and financing.
- Advocate for policies that make constructing and accessing housing easier for everyone.
