Your hometown Habitat affiliate

Habitat for Humanity empowers individuals and families to build and purchase their own homes with the support of people in our community.

Our affiliate was founded in Trilby, FL in 1994. In 2009, we merged with Habitat for Humanity Central Pasco County.

Habitat for Humanity of East and Central Pasco County has built alongside people across Pasco County east of the Suncoast Parkway in areas of Dade City, Zephyrhills, Land O’ Lakes, Wesley Chapel, Spring Hill, Crystal Springs and Lachoochee.

Rooted in Pasco County, Habitat brings people together to build stronger, more vibrant, and more equitable communities. We work side by side with individuals and families to ensure everyone has a safe, decent, and affordable place to call home.

We believe affordable homeownership plays a critical role in strong and stable communities.

Why housing?

We know the impact that a home can have on individuals, families and their wider communities. Every home has a multiplier effect, helping to tackle some of the biggest challenges of our time.

Habitat for Humanity has seen that home is the foundation on which we all build our lives.

1 in 3 of us around the globe still don’t have a safe, affordable home. This not only forces individuals and families to make tough choices in their personal lives, but can also create a barrier to strong, stable, thriving communities and economies.

Fixing the housing challenge isn’t going to be easy, but we are not afraid of hard work. Together, we can build a world where everyone has a safe, affordable home. Every dollar donated sparks wider change: repairing damage from extreme weather events, changing outdated laws, or innovating new ways to build and finance housing affordably:

Economic growth starts with a home. Not just because homebuilding is a core part of the global economy, but because a safe, affordable home allows us all to be independent, find and keep stable work, grow wealth, and plan for the future.

Health starts with a home. Unsafe housing leads to poor health outcomes: from respiratory issues caused by mold and damp, and
infections caused by insects in dirt floors, to the increased difficulty accessing medical support without a fixed address.

A climate-resilient world starts with a home. Sturdier construction and the use of hardier, more sustainable materials can help houses withstand extreme weather impacts, saving lives.

How we partner with families in east and central Pasco County

At Habitat for Humanity of East and Central Pasco County, we’re proud to build safe, energy-efficient, and affordable homes alongside hardworking individuals and families throughout our community.

New construction - We primarily construct new single-family homes and occasionally rehab vacant properties. Every home is sold to a income qualifying homebuyer through an affordable mortgage, making homeownership accessible and sustainable.

Diaster response - We provide disaster recovery assistance through our ReBuild program.

Roof replacements - we partner with veterans who need roof replacements through our Veteran Build Initiative in partnership with Owens Corning.

Financial education -  We also provide homebuyer counseling and education to help families prepare for successful homeownership.

We’re proud to work alongside local volunteers, donors, and families to build strength and stability.
