Operation Roof Deployment
In partnership with Owens Corning Roofing, Habitat for Humanity is proud to support U.S. military veterans through the Operation Roof Deployment Project.
Since 2016, this national program has provided free roof replacements to over 650 honorably discharged veterans and their families across the country. The program brings together Habitat for Humanity affiliates, Owens Corning, and Platinum Preferred Roofing Contractors to deliver safe, high-quality roofing—at no cost to the homeowner.
What the Program Provides:
- Owens Corning donates roofing materials
- Certified local contractors volunteer their time to install the roof
- Habitat for Humanity affiliates coordinate the project and screen applicants
Who is Eligible:
- U.S. military veterans with an honorable discharge or surviving spouses
- Homeowners whose roof is in need of replacement
- Households meeting income eligibility guidelines (generally ≤ 80% of area median income)
- Must pass background and sex offender checks
How to Apply:
- Contact your local Habitat for Humanity affiliate
- Complete an eligibility screening
- If approved, your nomination will be submitted to Owens Corning Roofing
Please note that roof replacement is not guaranteed, and projects depend on contractor availability and funding capacity.
This program honors the service of our nation’s veterans by ensuring they have a safe, secure, and lasting roof over their heads. Together, we’re building strength, stability, and self-reliance—one roof at a time.
