What are the requirements to participate?
In Dade City, Florida, Habitat offers a campground fully equipped with 50-amp electric, sewer, and water hookups. Our camp house includes bathrooms, showers, a full kitchen, dining area, and laundry facilities. Volunteers can stay comfortably whether in a self-contained RV or a tent.
What if I’ve never done construction work before?
No problem! We’ll teach you on site. Projects range from framing, roofing, and trim work to interior renovations. You can try new skills or stick to familiar ones. Volunteers may also support Habitat by helping in the office, ReStore, or as site “gofers.”
What should I expect during a build?
- Each build includes around 8–10 volunteers (up to 10 rigs).
- Projects typically last about two weeks.
- Workdays begin with a morning devotional at 8:00 a.m., followed by 6–7 hours of building with regular breaks.
- Evenings often include potluck dinners or outings to local restaurants, creating a true community atmosphere.
What does Habitat provide?

What should I bring?
Please bring sturdy work shoes, gloves, a tool belt, hammer, square, pencil, and measuring tape. Volunteers cover their own expenses, though some costs may be tax-deductible.
